Pioneers in the development of Pars Hormoz gas liquefaction
The development of the natural gas value chain and the maximum use of its revenues, requires the completion of all stages, including the extraction, processing and production of consumer products. The establishment of refineries and petrochemical complexes as the largest links in this chain alone will not guarantee the full benefit of the added value of this industry. Therefore, creating smaller units as intermediate links in the chain play a key role in maximizing the value created. Ethane gas, as the most abundant gas in the composition of natural gas, is the raw material for the production of many materials in the value chain of the petrochemical industry. The physical properties and high flammability of this gas make it the best way to use it to liquefy this colorless and odorless gas. This will make it easier to transport and feed the petrochemical complexes to continue the industry production chain.
A closer look at the active production complexes and development plans in the petrochemical industry shows that with the start of the units under construction, the demand for ethane will increase and the industry will face a surplus of demand for ethane. Therefore, launching an ethane gas liquefaction unit will be a good opportunity for investment due to the lower initial capital than before and after the loops.
After conducting more detailed studies and evaluations and clarifying the various angles of the issue, the launch of the ethane gas liquefaction unit as a project with high priority was put on the agenda to be established in the vicinity of one of the natural gas refineries in the country's gas fields. The mentioned project entered the implementation phase with the cooperation of Dana Kish Investment, Oil Industry Investment Company and Tadbirgaran Farday Omid Company after passing the study stage. After receiving the relevant licenses and going through the legal steps, Pars Hormoz Gas Liquidation Development Pioneers Company was established for this purpose.
With the start of the company, technical measures related to the purchase, transportation, installation and commissioning of equipment began, and for this purpose, the reputable Fortune China Company was selected as the technical contractor for the project. It was decided that the project would be completed by the company with an initial capital of about 21 million euros.
In location studies by examining the conditions of receiving ethane gas and units consuming the product, the South Pars Energy Special Economic Zone in Kangan city of Bushehr province was considered as the project location and part of the equipment was installed in the specified location. However, due to problems with the project, it was decided to relocate the company. After examining possible neighborhoods and consultations to ensure the supply of food and the consumer of the company's product, the company's board of directors decided to move the company from Kangan to Bid Boland Special Economic Zone, 17 km from Behbahan, Khuzestan Province. Now, Pars Hormoz Gas Liquidation Development Pioneer Company is being set up in a new location near the Persian Gulf Gas Refinery and will sell its product to Ilam Petrochemical after operation. The company has completed about 50% of the completion stages at this stage and is expected to be operational by the end of 1401.
